'Fallout 4' news: Hours of gameplay experience

"Fallout 4," the upcoming installment in Bethesda's hugely-popular "Fallout" franchise, promises players hours of gameplay experience, but it was not until recently that fans had an inkling of how long they would need to log in in order to get through the game.

In an interview with OXM, as reported by game industry observer Gamespresso, Bethesda's lead producer Jeff Gardiner stressed that "Fallout 4" is so massive, he himself had played for at least 400 hours but has yet to finish the game.

Aside from the riveting story — in general, telling how humanity will be able to survive in a post-apocalyptic world — the gameplay itself is diverse. There are speculations that Bethesda will be introducing a new item repair system for the different weapons and gears found in-game.

The title will still retain the item crafting features for the vaults, weapons, and armor, and the different elements found in the vast open world will give players so many hours trying to hone and upgrade their crafts. Moreover, all the items found in "Fallout 4" will almost be a part of something, and it depends on the players how big or small a crafted item will be, and players could be engaged only on crafting items for hours on end.

When he sampled the game, Pete Hines, Bethesda's vice president of Marketing and PR, had more often than not crafted items rather than exploring the Wastelands.

"For the larger building stuff it's not in your inventory, it's in the workbench that you're using in that area," he said about the crafting system, in an interview with GamesRadar last June. "I deconstructed this and it's all stored over here and then when I go to build it's pulling from that inventory of stuff I have."

"Fallout 4" is expected to roll out on Nov. 10 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
