Fallout 4 release date: Unverified reports still hound game's long-awaited release

Looks like fans of the Fallout series need to extend their patience much longer, since the rumors about the supposed release date of the highly-anticipated Fallout 4 are still unconfirmed by the game's developers.

Bethesda Softworks, the authorized developer of the popular role-playing video game, still has to release an official statement regarding its actual release date. Though there are a lot of reports from so-called reliable sources circulating online about the possible 2015 release of the game, Bethesda is still keeping mum about it.

An unconfirmed report recently surfaced, saying that Bethesda decided to drop the production of Fallout 4, and passed it on to another videogame company called Battle Studios. This story came after Fallout director Howard Todd allegedly said that Bethesda failed to provide a specific timeframe for the launch of the fourth installment of the game series.

The first two installments of the Fallout videogame series were developed by Interplay Entertainment and Black Isle Studios. In 2014, Interplay decided to pass the responsibility to create Fallout 3: New Vegas to Bethesda. Afterwards, Bethesda decided to buy the entire series for further development.

There are also unverified reports posted by IB Times saying that since the Fallout 4 project had already missed its supposed launch schedule at the 2014 E3, the developers had decided to release it during the 2015 E3 instead.

Other reports about the possible inclusion of Fallout 4 said that it will integrate a multiplayer aspect. The reports said that the game's project director and Fallout: Las Vegas lead designer Josh Sawyer had divulged information about his plans to include an MMO component for the game.

In a related rumor, the developer's project titled Institute is said to be a reference to the Fallout 4 title.

However, all these reports are still unverified. Bethesda has yet to confirm any of these reports before Fallout 4 is actually released.
