Everton transfer news: David Henen deal imminent; Juventus may steal Romelu Lukaku

A deal is close at hand to bring David Henen to Everton, Blues manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed.

The Anderlecht forward has been linked to Arsenal and Manchester United but Martinez said he hoped the 18-year-old would bring "something different" to the Under-21s, Sky Sports reports.

"He's a young, talented footballer who represents Belgium in the lower teams, in the Under-18s, and has had good experience in going to France," Martinez said.

Henen spent last season on loan to Monaco B but the Daily Mail reports he has asked to wear the No 39 shirt as he is a fan of former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka.

Meanwhile Romelu Lukaku's future at Chelsea has been in question for the last few weeks, with Everton keen to take him to their side on loan this season.

It had been reported that Jose Mourinho wanted to block his transfer out of the club to assess his playing during training.

The Mirror is reporting that Everton now face some competition from Juventus to get the Belgian.

The paper reports that although Lukaku will spend the second half of the pre-season European tour with Chelsea, he has become surplus to requirements for their coming campaign and is likely to spend his third season in a row out on loan.

Instead, the attacking formation for Chelsea will comprise new arrival Diego Costa, the returning Didier Drogba, and Fernando Torres.
