Eminem new album 2016 release date: record may be delayed to early 2017 as he awaits fresh inspiration

It has been over two years since Marshall Mathers aka Eminem released a full album, and according to a report from Yibada, it is possible that the rapper is still not set on releasing his ninth studio album due to the lack of inspiration to write new music.

According to the report, the rapper is possibly working in secret on a new album and that he will make an announcement soon once sufficient material has been written and recorded. The lack of inspiration may be a cause of delay, however, and the album may not launch this year and may instead be pushed to early 2017.

News of Eminem gearing up to release a new album sparked even more when the rapper re-released his 2000 album "The Marshal Mathers LP" on cassette tapes. As reported by Consequence of Sound, Eminem has re-released the album along with a shirt and an actual brick from his childhood home which had been torn down due to structural safety issues.

The re-release has garnered enough attention from fans and the rapper has been active both on stage and in the studio. Yibada pointed out that Eminem had performed in the Lallapalooza event in Argentina where he performed many of his classic hits.

Eminem has worked in the studio for Gwen Stefani's new album and did the soundtrack for the movie "Southpaw." The rapper reportedly produced several of the songs on Stefani's album, which he also performs on.

With Eminem remaining quite active in the music scene it is further speculated that he will surprise fans with a new album soon, particularly now that he is getting more attention with the re-release of his classic songs on cassette. However, neither Eminem nor the studios have confirmed if the rapper is indeed working and when a new album may be out.
