On February 11th, up and coming rock band Electralyte will be performing songs from their new album at ALOVE’s event Devotion. This special gig will be the first place that an audience has heard the new album, which has been produced on ALOVE Records, in partnership with ICC. ALOVE interviewed the band all about it ...

So – you’re launching a new album. What’s it called and what’s it about?

Breakout is the name and Breakout is the game!! It’s all about breaking out of the box that we have put ourselves in, getting out of our comfort zones and really seeing where that takes us! It’s about being a generation that doesn’t take ‘no’ for an answer, whilst taking bold steps forward and exceeding the norm.

What’s been the inspiration for the album?

Life! God! And Family! It’s our take on life, with a little light shone on from a God perspective.

A lot of the songs we’ve written over the past year have been based around the Freedom we can find in God. The album’s songs are about literal captivity and how that might feel, while others are more about you and me everyday. Many of us are held captive to things – such as expectations, fear etc. In God these can be overcome.
