EEA3 Looks to Young to Participate

The Third European Ecumenical Assembly of EEA3 is calling on young Christians from across Europe to get involved with next year's gathering in Romania by becoming stewards at the event.

The medieval city of Sibiu in Romania will welcome and host the EEA3 between the 4 - 9 of September 2007.

The event is jointly organised by the Conference of European Churches (CEC) and the Council of European Bishops' Conferences (CCEE) and one aim of the Third European Ecumenical Assembly is to encourage the participation of a large number of young people in the event.

An ecumenical assembly gives all the participants the opportunity to get to know each other, to discover each others' cultures and traditions, to get to understand the different denominations, says the Ecumenical Youth Council in Europe (EYCE).

It added that the EEA3 will be a unique opportunity for the young participants to learn about the ecumenical movement, to deepen their knowledge, to renew their ecumenical commitment and to find inspiration for their active work towards the unity of the church.

A particular group of youth at the Assembly will be the Stewards.

The assembly office is inviting young people from across Europe to find out more about the EEA3 Stewards Programme by downloading the Stewards' Brochure and Stewards Application Form from www.eea3.org.

If you don't apply yourself, please send this information forward to young people between 18-30 years old who could be interested in applying to be part of a unique experience!

Note that the deadline for sending the applications is the 15th February 2007.
