Even though The Learning Channel has already cancelled the Duggar family show "19 Kids and Counting," there is still quite a demand for more details about the Duggars' lives, and now Jim Bob and Michelle have decided to share how they manage to take care of the expenses of such a huge household.

In the Duggar Family Blog, the Christian couple revealed that managing the family's expenses is actually not the hardest thing they have to deal with since they have been managing to make ends meet by living frugally.

"Our family motto is to 'Buy used items and save the difference!' We shop at thrift stores and garage sales," the couple shared.

Jim Bob and Michelle admitted that the hardest thing about raising any number of children is "purposing to keep up with their hearts." Given the number of children they have, raising them to become good Christians is really a full-time job.

"We try to have regular talks with each one individually on a weekly basis. It is important to learn how to ask the right questions and not have a condemning spirit. They need to know they have a safe place to share their hopes and dreams, challenges and mistakes. This creates a very close relationship," they said.

They are proud of each of their children's individual personality, and that is why they make sure to "praise their children 10 times more than" they correct them. It was the counsel they received early on in their marriage, and they have tried doing it ever since with all of their children.

"Granted we have not always successfully carried it out every day, but that has been our goal—praising good character instead of flattering," they said.

Even though raising a large family is quite a task, the bright side is that Jim Bob and Michelle are never lacking for any dull moments because they get to spend time with 19 best friends. "It is a blast everywhere we go," they said.
