"Duck Dynasty" star Willie Robertson does not believe that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has the capability to lead America, calling her a "bad candidate" who has only gotten "worse" since she started running for higher office in 2008.

Speaking on Fox News recently as part of his new role as a Fox contributor, Robertson said he thinks Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump will win.

"I think Trump's got it, I think Hillary's a bad candidate. She was a bad candidate in '08 and she's even worse now. I think Mr. Trump is going to prevail," Robertson said.

Robertson said Clinton does not operate on fixed principles. On gun control, Clinton wants gun manufacturers to be held liable in cases of mass shootings.

But Robertson said he expects that she will change her stance if she finds a way to win the White House.

"She'll change. She moves back and forth according to where she is at. It's true, I've seen it over and over," he said.

"Guns are vital for us, for hunting, for our protection, and so yeah I am pro-Second Amendment and [I'm] not gonna get off that and I think our country is based on that."

"I'm happy to keep preaching that message. It works well where I'm from," the Louisiana native added.

Robertson's disparaging remarks on Clinton are quite the opposite of his estimation of Trump whom he is endorsing for President. "Mr. Trump is a real leader," Robertson earlier said. "He represents success and strength, two attributes our country needs. Like me, he is a successful businessman and family man and I endorse his candidacy for President of the United States."

Robertson's father Phil, on the other hand, is endorsing Trump's opponent in the Republican race, Ted Cruz.

During Cruz's pit stop in Knightsville, Indiana recently, the senator from Texas erroneously referred to the hoop or rim as "basketball ring," eliciting scorn from basketball fans.

Cruz said, "The amazing thing is, that basketball ring here in Indiana is the same height as it is in New York City and every other place in this country."

Robertson poked fun of Cruz's wrong choice of words and jokingly said, "Under a Ted Cruz administration, every home is going to have a basketball ring, a football net and a hockey glove."

Prior to giving their support to both Trump and Cruz, the Robertson family initially backed former presidential hopeful Bobby Jindal, who withdrew from the race last November.
