Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection FToei Animation

"Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'" is ready to hit select U.S. theaters this Aug. 4 to 12, but fans of the series can already pre-order their tickets online via the official Dragon Ball Z website. Tickets have been offered since June 26. Fans can also acquire exclusive deals if they subscribe to the Dragon Ball Z site.

The U.S. release will be the English dub version of the film instead of the Japanese dub with English subtitles, which was the version shown during the April 11 premiere at the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles. The English dub features the voices of Sean Schemmel as Goku, Christopher R. Sabat as Vegeta, and Chris Ayres as Frieza.

Along with the U.S. release, the film is scheduled to hit theaters in 74 other countries. Manga Entertainment has acquired the rights to distribute the film in the U.K. but as of the time of writing, there are no definitive release dates to announce. Australia, on the other hand, will get a winter 2015 release which will showcase both the English dub and subtitled versions of the film.

"Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'" is the 19th film in the "Dragon Ball" franchise and is the 15th in the lineup to have the "Dragon Ball Z" brand. Despite this, it is one of the few movies that is considered canon and is set right after the events of the "Dragon Ball Z" anime series, and is a sequel to "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods."

The film sees the return of Frieza after his followers travel to Earth and resurrect him via the Dragon Balls. He attains a new, golden form, forcing Goku and Vegeta to get even stronger in order to fight back. This leads to the two warriors unlocking the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan transformation. Beerus, the God of Destruction, is also set to return in the film.
