'Dragon Ball Super' news: Shanpa reintroduced in new trailer

First look at new character Shanpa (far right)Toei Animation

Fans get their first look at Shanpa in a new trailer for "Dragon Ball Super." The preview shows the character looking like a puffed up version of the villainous Beerus. He is said to be the mysterious new force poised to disturb the elusive peace in the planet after the end the chaotic Majin Buu era.

In the trailer, the second for the series to date, Goku declares his determination to beat the new bad guys on the block as he always manages to do, all while he plows the field and helps Chi-chi with farming.

The pilot episode of "Dragon Ball Super" reiterates the hero's fulfillment of his responsibility to protect the world while helping out his family. The official website for the series shares the synopsis, translated by IB Times. It reads:

While on Earth after the fierce fight with Majin Buu. Goku has been ordered by Chi-chi to work in agriculture every day while he trains as well. On the other hand, Mr. Satan (Hercule) is said to have saved Earth for a second time and has won the World Peace Prize?!"

Noticeably, the synopsis is somewhat different from the one posted by V-Jump Magazine except for the part that Goku really is doing some farming and training at the same time. Here is what the publication wrote:

After defeating Majin Buu, life is peaceful once again. Ordered by Chi-chi to earn money, Goku works even as he wants to train even more. Meanwhile, Goten, about to become a brother-in-law to Videl, sets out on a journey with Trunks to find her a present."

"Dragon Ball Super," which is the first series in the franchise in 18 years, will get 100 episodes and is scheduled to premiere on July 5 in Japan.
