'Downton Abbey' season 5 spoilers: No deaths in new season, according to new trailer

"Downton Abbey" fans are going to love this news. ITV just shared a photo of how season 5 is going, but that isn't enough, is it? ITV also shared a teaser trailer for the upcoming season.

So before you go all crazy about this, do know that the teaser trailer is just 21 seconds long. But looking at the bright side, that's 21 seconds of new footage of season 5. So, we'll take that, thank you!

The photo ITV shared was during the filming of one of the episodes of the 5th season, which is slated to return in August. The photo was captioned "Filming is well underway for the brand new series of Downton Abbey and we're getting super excited. Who's with us?"

And just after a few hours, ITV presented the "Downton Abbey" fans with the teaser trailer. In the trailer, Mr. Carson says something foretelling about the upcoming season. He says, "I feel a shaking of the ground I stand on. The nature of life is not permanence, but flux. Things are changing."

In the season 4 season finale, Lady Mary Crawley had to choose between two suitors, one handsome and the other wealthier. But with what the trailer has shown, the Crawley clan will undergo serious changes. So what will happen to Lady Mary then?

Moreover, scriptwriter Julian Fellowes told Daily Mail UK that "There aren't any plans for any big characters to die this year. I think it would be very unwise to do any more deaths because the viewers don't like them," as a response to fans complaining about the high number of body counts in the previous seasons.

But of course, the show won't last forever according to Lesley Nicol. She says "'I don't know how long it will last. I know it won't go on years and years. Julian wants to do other things and he will also want to go out on a high, as we all do." Well, what matters is that fans can enjoy it while it lasts.

Filming isn't over yet, so everyone still has to wait for season 5 to return this fall. So just sit tight and wait for further spoilers in the coming weeks.
