"Doctor Strange" is the latest upcoming entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and according to a report from Cinema Blend, it is possible that one of the Avengers is going to have a cameo in the film. More specifically, it is hinted that Robert Downey Jr. will appear as Tony Stark aka Iron Man himself.

According to the report, the information broke out from insider The Angry Ginger via Twitter, claiming that a source had informed him that Iron Man was going to be in the film. This was later supported when one of the film's stars, Benedict Wong, posted on Twitter that filming just wrapped indicating a few re-shoots or additional scenes had been filmed.

Cinema Blend points out that this could mean Tony Stark is indeed going to be in the film but not necessarily in the main bulk of the story. Instead, Stark might appear in a mid-credits or post-credits scene to inform the titular Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) has garnered the attention of the Avengers.

It is further pointed out that since the end of "Captain America: Civil War" Iron Man was now the leader of the Avengers but was short of superheroes. Many sided with Captain America (Chris Evans) and became fugitives, Rhodey aka War Machine (Don Cheadle) had been paralyzed and Black Widow (Scarlet Johansson) was undecided on joining the Avengers or going with Steve Rogers. He still has Vision (Paul Bettany) and Spider-Man (Tom Holland) on his side.

This may mean Doctor Strange will be officially joining the Avengers by the end of his solo film, just in time to help the team during the events of the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity War" film. It is also speculated that Doctor Strange may have one of the Infinity Gems that the villain Thanos (Josh Brolin) needs.

"Doctor Strange" opens in theaters this Nov. 4.
