Derick and Jill Dillard from the TLC show "Counting On" have returned to the United States for their stateside term, and have started providing fans with an update on their family ministry.

A lot of people have questioned how the Dillards used the money given by avid supporters to fund their ministry, prompting the couple to reply.

"Through your faithful giving to our ministry, God has provided a way for our family to follow His calling to missionary service. Your sacrifice is deeply meaningful to us and since we began Dillard Family Ministries in June 2015, we have always strived to be honorable stewards of the call of God on our lives, the trust of those we are serving and the finances and friendship of those of you partnering with us," Derick writes on their blog.

Most of the financial support they receive, he says, has gone to "reaching the spiritually dead of Central America." They use it to cover their travel expenses to reach the "physically and spiritually destitute."

Even now that they are in America, Derick and Jill are not stopping in improving their ministry. Derick writes that they are making the most of their time and resources by taking Bible classes and sharing the story of their mission with people in the U.S.

When their schedule permits, Derick is also working on a number of jobs in between to be able to provide additional support for his family. As for Jill, she is using her midwifery skills to assist people as they give birth.

"Needless to say, we try to make the most of the time when our son is asleep, employing tag-team parenting and family assistance when necessary," says Derick. "Through focused time of Bible study in our classes, we hope to be more equipped missionaries, both here in the states as well as when we return to Central America."
