"Dark Souls III" fans are anticipating an announcement to be made today, Aug. 24. Many are hoping that it has something to do with the first of two DLC packs that set to arrive in the final chapter of the series.

Developer FromSoftware recently posted on Twitter that something worthwhile will arrive on the said date. Fans are anticipating that a date will be set in stone for the game's expansion pack. It was confirmed last February by the Season Pass that players would be receiving two DLC packs for US$25.

Nothing concrete is really known for the first expansion pack except that it is expected to bring in new bosses, maps and additional weapons.

Fans on the "Dark Souls III" Reddit page have been discussing about possible content of the upcoming DLC. One player said that the game may bring in a different plot," bringing back to Lordran, to stop the loop at the advice of the firekeeper, or some new NPC." Another gamer stated, "I don't have an idea for the bosses, the area. Only the ending. I don't mind the bosses, as long as they're decent and creative for the setting. I just want this to be the ending; We drop the key into the cell."

A few are also speculating that the upcoming announcement may possibly be a marketing ploy between Bandai Namco, its publisher, and other companies to reveal some add-ons that they think will appeal to the gamers.

Meanwhile, patch 1.07 is also set to be deployed by Aug. 25 on all platforms, which will bring fixes and adjustments on balance issue of the game.
