"Dallas" will no longer be aired by TNT but it will surely be remembered by the loyal fans of the series for years to come. The long-running television soap opera series was temporary revived by the network with a TV show of the same name. However, after just three seasons, the network cancelled the show.

For 13 years, American households had shared laughs and tears in the colorful life of the Ewing family. The original CBS series was undoubtedly a smash hit and J.R. Ewing became an icon.

The contemporary revival of the series showed viewers some fresh and familiar faces. The new one starred the following cast: Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.

TNT aired Dallas in June 2012 to continue the wealthy family's crazy antics but ended them altogether right after three seasons.

The first season started strong, reaching 6.9 million viewers. It only took weeks to determine that the series deserves more seasons. By the time it scored a third season, the ratings sunk dramatically and 26% was stripped off its viewership leaving it to garner only 1.7 million viewers, thus becoming one of TNT's lowest-rating series. A fourth season was never in sight after those numbers.

TNT caps it all off officially with this statement. "We are extremely proud of [Dallas], which defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga. We want to thank everyone involved with the show, from the extraordinary cast to the impeccable production team, led by the show's creative forces, Cynthia Cidre and Mike Robin. We especially want to thank the people of Dallas for their warm and generous hospitality during the production of the series."

Fans know that this will not be th last of the Ewings. The hope of the devotees of the show for a fourth season do not falter. Who knows what the writers who are "working on scripts and ideas for a fourth season" might come up with.
