The latest trailer and official synopsis of the first episode of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" season 15 hints that Julie Finlay will die.

CBS recently released a trailer for the premiere episode of the 15th season of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," which shows Julie Finlay (Elisabeth Shue) having to deal with a bomb planted in her car. As soon as she gets inside, she is locked in.  A bomb starts ticking away and a timer on the dashboard starts to count down. Meanwhile, Russell (Ted Danson) shanghais a trailer full of photos of Finlay. This suggests that the lady investigator may have a stalker or someone is targeting her.

The premiere episode of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" is entitled "The CSI Effect." The official synopsis reads:

Finlay must deal with a bomb planted in her car, while Russell gets a call from someone claiming to be the Gig Harbor killer."

The synopsis sparks questions, especially after Russell allegedly catches the serial killer. Someone seems to be pretending to be the Gig Harbor killer. Moreover, fans speculate that Julie Finlay will die.

However, some spoilers negate the predictions as Mark Valley will be coming to the show and will play the role of a private detective who teams up with Julie Finlay after his partner disappears. There are speculations that Julie will not be saved by a bomb squad, or that the bomb is not real.  The device may have been planted there in order to distract Russell from his usual routine or to scare Finlay.

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" season 15 will air on Sept. 28. TV Network CBS plans to air the new season of CSI early to pave the way for the new crime drama series "CSI: Cyber," which is a spinoff of the series which will air in spring.

Patricia Arquette will star the spinoff as Special Agent Avery Ryan. Meanwhile, James van der Beek and Peter MacNicol have also been rumored to become series regulars.
