Creed frontman Scott Stapp took to Facebook on Wednesday to clear up rumours about his alleged substance abuse relapse, and to solicit help from his fans for his financial trials.

Stapp began by saying that he is sober, but struggling with poverty and homelessness after a "vicious attack" on his bank account.

"I still haven't figured out the reasons why," he explained, "except that about eight weeks ago I began an audit of not only my record company, but my personal finances.

"During the course of that audit, a lot of things were uncovered. A lot of money was stolen from me, or royalties not paid. And that's where all hell began to break loose."

The singer said that a death hoax and rumours about his sobriety were planted by the same people who allegedly stole his money in an attempt to discredit him.

"I've even been threatened that if I went public, like I'm doing right now, that any impropriety, or anything that I've ever done in my past, that these individuals can get their hands on," he claimed.

The IRS has allegedly frozen his bank account, and Stapp said that he is currently living in a Holiday Inn. He also reported sleeping in his truck for the "past couple of weeks," and not eating for two days because he had no money.

Despite his trials, the 41-year-old said he has rededicated his life to Christ, and is looking forward to sharing his testimony and the power of Christ with others. He also expressed forgiveness to those who have allegedly wronged him, and discussed how much he loves his three children.

Fans of the singer shared encouraging words and Bible verses in an attempt to uplift the rocker.

"We all stand with you brother in prayer and in hope don't give up or give in much love," Alfred Preacher Olmos said.

"The enemy attacks us not on where we are, the enemy attacks us on where we are going," Arie Herber wrote. "1 John 4:4 'the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world' Joshua 1:9 'do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.'

"Romans 8:28 'And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.' God bless you sir."
