Chile have managed to navigate their way through some tough games to arrive in the Final, and in their semi final they had to fight hard to get past a difficult Peru team. They are now just one game away from a dream Copa America title on home soil.

However, Argentina will be big favorites after their performance in the semi finals, demolishing Paraguay 6-1. They themselves will be just as desperate to win this one, as they have not won a major international tournament since 1993. Their supporters back home will be holding their breath with anticipation that their more-than 20 year wait for a trophy will finally be over today.

Lionel Messi was on fire in the semis, and Paraguay simply had no answer to stop him. At times it was brutal to watch as Messi and Co. completely tore the Paraguay defense to shreds, and it finally seems like the Argentinian team has hit top gear, and it has come at the perfect time.

For Messi personally, a win here today would be a sweet moment. He has won cabinet-loads of trophies both personally and at club level, however, at the international level he still has so much more to achieve.

Many compare him to Argentinian legend, Diego Maradona, however, Maradona drove his national team to win trophies, and that - so far - has been the main thing lacking from Messi's illustrious career.

With players around Messi such as Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez and Gonzalo Higuain among others, there is no excuse for this Argentina team not to be winning trophies, and they will feel it is their time finally today.

However, they face a Chilean side that will be giving their all, and they will have a 12th man with the home fans cheering them on in what is sure to be an electric atmosphere in Santiago.

Whether they have enough to contain Argentina remains to be seen, but one thing's for sure, they will not be left wanting for lack of effort.

Aguero has indicated that Argentina will not be taking the hosts lightly, and he even praised the Chile team as "one of the best teams in the tournament".

"It is the second major challenge facing us after Uruguay and they will look to impose on us," he said.

Chile captain, Claudio Bravo, has said: "We have never been favorites in any tournament and often is good for us to feel that, because we are full of energy and enthusiasm. The word fear has not been referred to by anyone in the team, but we have the utmost respect for all the teams. The headline of fear or that we were scared was established by the press and not from us."
"I think we have to do the same thing that we did in the match in the qualifiers for Brazil, which was a very seasoned Chile, a Chile that wanted to play on equal terms."

He added: "This is something we have been doing since long ago, and the truth is that we have a great chance, playing at home, with our fans, which increases our chances of playing a good game and brings us closer to the title."
