'Community' season 6 spoilers: Filming to start soon, Russo brothers to direct premiere episode

The darkest timeline is over - Community Season 6Facebook

Fans of the hit sitcom "Community" are still ecstatic after learning that the show will still run for its sixth season via Yahoo, and more good news had been announced about who will direct the season's premiere episode.

Based on reports, Joe and Anthony Russo will return to Glendale and direct the premiere episode of Community Season 6.

The Russo brothers, who also helmed the blockbuster-winning movie "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," were also the primary directors of the series since the beginning.

Between the two of them, the brothers have managed to direct 33 episodes since season one up to season five.

Last season's final two episodes were exceptionally phenomenal, despite being made by the brothers during the critical editing period of The Winter Soldier.

In an interview conducted during the release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier DVD and Blu-Ray, the brothers were asked about their return to direct in Community.

Anthony said, "We will be returning. We're going to do the first episode [of Season 6] for those guys. We're going to have a little fun with that episode. [Community executive producers] Dan Harmon and Chris McKenna are cooking up something very cool for us..."

In addition, Anthony explained why he and his brother always return to the series. He said, "The quality is always so high for the scripts on that show, so it's very exciting to tear into one of those scripts as a director."

Earlier this year, NBC cancelled the show after its fifth season run. The fans were not happy about that, and made an online appeal for a season six and a movie. In June, Yahoo Screen announced that they will pick up the show for a 13th episode.

Though the airing date of Community season 6 is still unknown, series creator Dan Harmon said that the writers will begin the story conference on Sept. 8. and the cameras will begin rolling on Nov. 17.
