Cleveland Cavaliers NBA trade rumors: Tristan Thompson possibly out, Ray Allen possibly in?

After the Cleveland Cavaliers decided to ink a deal with power forward Kevin Love, a lot of rumors have been spreading about the possible trade of current power forward Tristan Thompson.

Hoop Rumors correspondent Chuck Myron said that there is a big chance that the Cavs will trade Thompson sooner or later.

"I don't know that Bennett has too much to do with Thompson. The Cavs never seemed to hesitate to put him in the Love deal, but that's because they apparently want to contend right away. I actually think the Love swap makes it less likely the Cavs will come to a new deal with Thompson, since there's little reason to keep two highly paid power forwards around. Thompson is a starter in this league, and he'll have to go somewhere else to do that.

"Thompson would be nice to have long-term for depth, no doubt, but I don't think he'll take the discount necessary for that to happen. You don't want to overpay a guy who plays behind one of your best players (and remember, LeBron can play power forward, too.)," Myron's report stated.

Thompson has an average of 11.7 points plus 9.2 rebounds per game with a shooting percentage of 47.7 from the field as well as 69.3% from the free throw line. In the entire duration of his career, he came up with 10.8 points as well as 8.6 rebounds average per game while scoring 47.3% from the field as well as 63% from the free throw line.

Thompson was originally drafted by the Cavs as the fourth-overall selection during the 2011 NBA Draft.

Also, the Cavs expressed their confidence that they will get to sign Ray Allen in the team before the training camp begins even though he still has not yet made the announcement that he will return to play for his 19th year in the league.

Allen is still in his prime and considered to be one of the best three-point shooters in NBA even at 39-years-old. With an average of 9.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, two assists as well as 44.2% from the field and 37.5% from the free throw line, Allen would be a valuable key to the team's play together with another comeback star LeBron James.
