Cleveland Cavaliers NBA 2015 news, rumors: Is Kevin Love a misfit in Cleveland?

Do the Cleveland Cavaliers really need Kevin Love?

Apparently this is one question that many have been asking. With the Cavaliers on the verge of making the NBA Finals, the team has been doing great even with Love and Kyrie Irving hardly helping Lebron James.

Irving has of course done more than Love. The three-time NBA all star has been out since the first round since suffering a shoulder injury that ended his 2014-15 season. And that injury he sustained against the Boston Celtics could very well be his last one, assuming he does not re-sign with the Cavs once the ongoing season comes to a close.

Love is set to be an unrestricted free agent after this season and there is no certainty on whether he will come back next year for Cleveland.

Multiple teams are expected to court Love, the Lakers and the Celtics believed to be at the front. Of the two however, many believe that Love could sign up with the Lakers who have a wide open salary cap space to use. This is with the understanding that Love would be looking for security and a long-term deal.

Should the Cavs go all the way, Love will have satisfied his longing for an NBA title. The only thing is that the setup seems half-fulfilled considering he was only of help until the first round of the NBA playoffs. In a way, Love could be looking for another run at that and staying with the Cavs could be an option.

But one thing that hinders that from happening is the fact that Love has struggled to co-exist with Lebron James and Kyrie Irving. He has been far from the Kevin Love that many have seen and apparently such was expected since he is no longer the lone go-to-guy on the squad.

So if one takes a look at the pros and cons, Love leaving seems apparent. And like most big name free agents in the offseason, it would all depend. Will he be looking for money or for legacy.

If he joins the Lakers or Celtics, the financial angle will most likely be satisfied. As far as legacy is concerned, he may have to wait a bit since both are still trying to get past the rebuilding period.
