Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) and Lindsay's (Sophia Bush) on-off love affair may finally be coming to an end in the upcoming episode of the NBC series "Chicago P.D."

In "A Night Owl," CarterMatt reports that Halstead will be meeting an attractive woman who can make him forget all the heartaches from his past relationship. When a medical marijuana clinic is in need of an able security guard, Mouse (guest star Samuel Hunt) will be recommending Halstead for the position. At the same time, he will be setting his friend up with the attractive owner of the establishment. Will Mouse be successful in bringing the pair together?

According to TV Line, actress Charisma Carpenter has been tapped by NBC to play the proprietor of the marijuana dispensary. Her character was a former lawyer, before she chose to venture in the said business. Carpenter is reportedly set to appear as a recurring character in the series and can possibly be a romantic interest for Halstead. This will come as a bad news for "Linstead" shippers, as their wish to see their favorite couple reunited again is starting to fall apart.

In the past, Halstead and Lindsay have shared a tumultuous relationship. Things changed drastically when the female detective went under depression. She broke up with Halstead and refused to talk to him. Lindsay took to using painkillers and for a while, her colleagues feared that she would not be able to escape from her addiction. Although Halstead tried again and again to reconcile with her, Lindsay was just not ready for a renewed commitment. She told Halstead that they would be better off as friends and co-workers.

Back in August, executive producer Matt Olmstead told TV Guide that they were yet to wave the white flag of the "Linstead" couple. He said that the reunion would come, but not soon. Although Lindsay might push Halstead away, he would remain faithful to her.

"We're going to wait. The immediate concern is to get her on her feet again and out of harm's way, but down the road... we're exploring that, the executive producer shared. "In the meantime, there's nobody else for him," he added.

"Chicago P.D." season 3 airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
