Today's game once again comes from Busch Stadium on St Louis, before the series moves to Chicago for Games 3 and 4 (if needed).

The Cardinals won Game 1 on Friday, claiming a 4-0 victory as they completely locked down the Chicago offense. A single run in the first inning put them in the lead from the start and they never looked in much trouble after that; consolidating their victory with three more runs in the eighth inning.

Overall in Game 1 the Cardinals pitchers allowed just three hits in total, and the Cubs will have to try and find a way to break free and let loose in Game 2 if they are to turn things around.

The Cardinals will be sending Jaime Garcia to the mound today to try and build on the solid work John Lackey did for them in Game 1. Meanwhile, Kyle Hendricks has been given the start for the Cubs.

St Louis built their season of 100 wins on the back of solid starting pitching, and that has seemingly continued into the postseason. Lackey was spot on, and Garcia will try and follow suit today.

However, Garcia will face a tough job; remember, the Cubs were the second highest scoring team in the NL after the All Star break, and they have a number of players that will take advantage if Garcia doesn't get it right.

One player the Cubs will hope is on fire today is Kris Bryant. He is currently in a little bit of a slump in form, but Chicago will want the player to emerge who hit .275 with 26 home runs and 99 RBIs.

Bryant has never had to face Garcia before, and Garcia himself has not pitched against Chicago since way back in 2012, so there is a degree of mystery about how things will go today when they face off.

Whether the Cubs can level the series today or whether the Cardinals will stretch out to a 2-0 lead in the NLDS remains to be seen.
