Christians are praying outside Parliament as the House of Lords debates plans to legalise gay marriage.

On Monday, campaigners formed a 'human wedding cake' with a real couple dressed in wedding attire standing on top.

The campaigners have been joined by a worship band in singing Christian hymns and songs.

They want the traditional definition of marriage as a union between a man and a woman to remain the legal definition of marriage.

The prayer protest was also held outside Parliament when the legislation was being debated in the House of Commons.
