Activision is releasing on the Xbox One and PC the much-awaited "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" Awakening DLC on March 3. It comes a month after the same expansion pack was made available to PS4 players as part of Sony and Activision's exclusivity deal.

The DLC comes with four multiplayer maps. The first one is called Gauntlet, a three-lane map structure located in a military facility. Each lane on the map features an environment that poses different kinds of threats. There's a humongous jungle, a sub-zero sector and a damp urban.

The next map from the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" Awakening DLC is called Splash, simply because it is sited on a derelict water park. Unlike the Gauntlet, this one is all about fun and colors. Here, players can engage in an open flow of combat and there's even room for underwater gameplay.

The third multiplayer map is called Rise, which is located in the arctic suburbs of Zurich. The map is a joint construction project for a subterranean research campus. Players will come here for the "Call of Duty" combat classics and will stay for the map's gameplay variety opportunities.

Last but not the least, the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" DLC is bringing along Skyjacked, which is the reimagining of Hijacked, one of the most popular maps in the previous "Black Ops" installment. It sits on a security VTOL overlooking Zurich from thousands of feet.

Awakening is also bringing in Der Eisendrache, the first of the many Zombies adventures players will get to experience post-launch. Origin characters Richtofen, Nikolai, Takeo and Dempsey will be on the helm during this mission as they tread a spooky medieval castle.

"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" players can purchase the Awakening DLC for $15. The expansion pack is included in the title's season pass, which is priced for $49.99.
