"The Science Guy" Bill Nye will star in a forthcoming Netflix series called "Bill Nye Saves the World," which is set to premiere next year. He hopes to use that platform to "refute the anti-scientific claims espoused by religious leaders."

The show will also explore science and its impact on politics, society, and pop culture, according to Variety.

"Each episode of the series will tackle a topic from a scientific point of view, dispelling myths, and refuting anti-scientific claims that may be espoused by politicians, religious leaders or titans of industry," the show's description reads.

Nye hopes to change the world through science, and he believes going back to television will be the best way to do it. "Since the start of the 'Science Guy' show, I've been on a mission to change the world by getting people everywhere excited about the fundamental ideas in science. Today, I'm excited to be working with Netflix on a new show, where we'll discuss the complex scientific issues facing us today, with episodes on vaccinations, genetically modified foods and climate change," he says.

"With the right science and good writing, we'll do our best to enlighten and entertain our audience. And, perhaps we'll change the world a little," Nye adds.

In the Christian community, Nye is known for constantly arguing with Creation Museum founder Ken Ham. Nye and the creationist have often debated about science and religion. Just recently, Ham invited Nye to his latest Christian attraction called the Ark Encounter, which is a life-sized replica of Noah's Ark.

Unfortunately, Nye did not care much for the Ark Encounter. "I wanted to see how successful this thing is, or could be, and I wanted to see how children are reacting to it," Nye told The Washington Post. His conclusion was that the kids were being "brainwashed."
