"Soul Surfer" Bethany Hamilton is not letting her disability get in the way of motherhood duties. Even though she only has one arm, the athletic mother feels well-equipped to carry her son Tobias Dirks and change his diapers and not rely on her husband Adam Dirks to do all the legwork.

On her Instagram page (@bethanyhamilton), she shared a new photo of her with her son. "The love is real. Wow, being a mom is one of the best things ever!!! It's not that big a deal to change his diaper or get spit up all over me. I love giving my lil guy time all throughout the day. I love making him smile and laugh and toot and so on... Tobias is a wonderful blessing to Adam and I," she says.

Hamilton has always been optimistic about everything in her life, and she credits God for giving her such a positive outlook. Even when she got bit by a shark and lost her left arm 12 years ago, Hamilton never questioned God why such a bad thing happened to her. Instead, she used it as an opportunity to encourage other people to "connect with God."

"Knowing that God loves me and that he has a plan for my life, that no shark can take away and no contest result can shake, is like having solid rock underneath me. Bad things are bound to happen to everyone. That's life," she writes in her website. "Here's my advice: Don't put all your hope and faith into something that could suddenly and easily disappear. And honestly, that's almost anything. The only thing that will never go away, that will never fail you, is God and your faith in him. All I can say is He gives me a really strong foundation for everything I do in life."
