For "Soul Surfer" Bethany Hamilton, surfing the waves used to as easy as breathing air. But after getting pregnant and giving birth to her first son Tobias Dirks, Hamilton noticed a few changes to her surfing routine.

On her Instagram account (@bethanyhamilton), the new mother shared a photo of herself carrying a surfboard as she flashes a huge smile with the waves lapping behind her.

"A few fun surfs this last week, feeling almost as good as ever!" she wrote. "To go surfing is different now, I gotta plan it out more. I'll nurse Tobias then rush to go surf and make it back in time to nurse him again. Or sometimes Adam and I will take turns, he goes and then I go, while one of us is in the beach hanging! And sometimes, I'll have a bottle ready for Adam to give to Tobias and then I get an extra long surf session in, but then I start missing baby and hubby and head home in a hurry!"

Hamilton is really loving her experience as a mother, and has often gushed about her husband Adam Dirks, who has stepped up to the role of fatherhood. Tobias may be an easy baby to care for, but that does not mean that adjusting to parenthood has been effortless for Hamilton and Dirks. Thankfully though, the couple likes to look at the glass half full on every occasion.

"Well most of us have heard how tough the first two months with a newborn are especially the first child. Adam and I can attest to that! It's been a huge challenge these last two months. Good thing the sweet moments outweigh the tough. I can just sit there and admire how adorable our lil guy is and be filled with love for him," she said.
