"A simulpub initiative has never been done like this before – it's effectively a new format and it's made possible by digital publishing," General Manager at Kodansha Advanced Media Alvin Lu stated in a press release.

"Doing this through ComiXology and Amazon connects the global readership for this broad range of series at a level we've never seen," he went on to say.

As ecstatic as Lu and "Attack on Titan" fans is ComiXology. The comic book giant's Senior Director of Communication Chip Mosher revelled in the wonders of the collaboration with Kodansha in the press release.

"We're so excited to completely cut the wait time for English-speaking manga fans to no wait at all to read same day as Japan releases of their favorite Kodansha titles," he said.

Apart from "Attack on Titan," 17 more Kodansha titles will soon be released in English versions same day as their Japanese counterpart. These titles include "Fairy Tale," "Space Brothers" and "The Seven Deadly Sins."

The prices for the chapters range from $0.99 to $1.99, depending on the series. The "Attack on Titan" manga chapters are usually priced at $1.99.
