'Assassin's Creed Unity' Elise introduced; Is she a new love interest for Arno in new game?

The latest CG trailer for "Assassin's Creed: Unity" has come out and it's telling a whole new different story. The trailer introduces a new character, a female one; one that fans of the game have complained (lack of female characters) about in the past.

In the trailer, Arno, the main protagonist of the game, can be seen jumping from roof to roof trying to catch something. Cut shot to an execution, Elise, the female Templar, is just a few heads away from getting publicly executed. Arno races against time to save Elise, only to find themselves surrounded later on.

The trailer didn't show much about the gameplay. Rather, it was more of a character and story introduction, says Den of Geek. Nonetheless, it does highlight what abilities can be expected of Arno and what can be expected of Elise too. By the way, Elise will also have a collectible figurine to be released on October 14.

Meanwhile, Cinema Blend got to talk to voice actor Dan Jeanotte, who shared tons of juicy information about Arno. "Sharp and sarcastic," is how Jeanotte describes the lead star of the game. Arno is always questioning authority figures, but is not as duty-driven as Altair. Arno is more of a loner.

"He starts brash and irresponsible. Through tragedy, he's forced to grow up and fight for what is right," described Jeanotte. It's about Arno uniting with the Brotherhood and the people of France to fight together against oppressors."

Due to uncontrolled circumstances, Arno became part of the Assassins and started joining the French Revolution. It is this tragedy in Arno's life that inspired the new game.

Jeanotte continued to share that Arno will mature and his soft heart will eventually show underneath the toughness. His transformation will be a challenge, but worth watching.

Further, Jeanotte adds that the game isn't just about the Assassins or France, it's also about Arno's love story, "Arno is fighting or love and justice." Most probably, Arno's love interest is Elise, a noble Templar as Ubisoft said. Why else would Arno race against time to rescue her? It will be a "complicated love story," Jeanotte said.

"Assassin's Creed: Unity" will be launched on October 28 in PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In the meantime, feel free to enjoy Rob Zombie and Tony Moore's animated short about the events that led to "Unity."
