The Apple iPhone 7 will not be released in September, according to a new report. Apple is purportedly hanging its launch timing for the next-gen handset in favor of the iPhone 6s.

According to reports, the iPhone 7 will be a winner in the design and in the performance department. It is rumored to be the thinnest iPhone outing yet, thanks to a new chip technology called fan-out.

This technology compresses the chips and semiconductors, allowing for extra space. This will help Apple make the iPhone 7 slim (slimmer than the iPhone 6s, which us at 6.1mm).

While it is the thinnest one its family, the device will allegedly be the most durable as well. This is because it might just be the first iPhone to become water-resistant.

In addition, fan-out will help Apple fortify the battery life of the device. This department has always been problematic for Apple users as they are unable to enjoy their iPhones for longer hours. This will change, thanks to fan-out, which will allow the iPhone 7 to pack a bigger battery.

Juicing up the flagship will be no hassle, with Apple allegedly planning to make charging wireless. The tech firm is also opting out of a 3.5mm headphone jack and equip the iPhone 7 with wireless headphone technology. This will also contribute to trimming the device.
