After the release of Apple's iPad Air 2 tablet last year, the tech giant is now reportedly planning to release the new successor sometime by the end of this year.

According to a recent report by IT Pro UK, the new Apple iPad Air 3 could arrive in October or November, as Apple has the tradition of launching a new iPad device every year by this time.

IT Pro UK adds that the company might be planning to focus instead on a new iPad Pro and iPad mini devices for this year, and may launch the iPad Air 3 in 2016. This, however, has not been confirmed.

On the other hand, South Korean giant Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. is expected to release its new Galaxy Tab S2 tablet in August. Here's the difference between the two new tablets in terms of the specifications.

For Samsung's Tab S2, it has been confirmed that the tablet will be available in two versions. One version will sport an 8-inch display screen while the other will have a 9.7-inch screen (Super AMOLED). For Apple's new tablet, it was revealed earlier that this tablet might come in a 6.1 mm thin body and might sport a 9.7-inch display screen like its original predecessor, but with "a boost in resolution," according to Tech Radar.

In addition, Samsung's new Tab S2 tablets are expected to run on the new Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system (OS), while Apple's iPad Air 3 is expected to run on the latest iOS 9 OS.

Under the hood, the Tab S2 will have Samsung's Exynos 5433 processor, 3GB RAM, and 64GB internal memory that can be expanded, according to recent reports.

Apple's iPad Air 3 was rumored to pack the latest A9 processor and 3GB RAM as well. As of this time, it still remains unclear how much internal memory the new iPad device will have, and how much mega pixel the tablet's cameras will be. Both Samsung tablets are expected to have 8-megapixel rear cameras and 2.1-megapixel front-facing cameras.
