"Amplitude" will now be released in early 2016 instead of this year as originally planned.

Earlier on, Harmonix Music Systems, the team behind the game, had said that "Amplitude" would be ready by the summer of this year before the release date was yet again moved to latter part of 2015. The game was originally scheduled to be released in March 2015.

As of now, Harmonix has said that "Amplitude" will be widely available starting 2016, but that will not be the same release date for all. Since the game is being funded on Kickstarter, Harmonix has announced that early access to "Amplitude" will be provided to those who are helping launch the game on the crowdfunding website. For those backing the game, they will be able to play "Amplitude" by December of this year, according to Polygon.

As shared by Harmonix Chief Creative Officer Alex Rigopulos and Art Director Ryan Lesser, the reason for the game being delayed again is because they have opted to expand its scope.

Upon the release of "Amplitude," players will be able to try out different modes such as solo campaign and free play, a two- to four-player "free for all" mode, and even a team play competition. Lesser also suggested that a new feature coming to "Amplitude" will change the way players approach the musical title.

In addition to the revamped modes, "Amplitude" is also reportedly getting more songs. Instead of the original 16 songs, the game will now provide players with a 30-song collection as well as some new environments to play in, according to Gamespot. Kickstarters who poured in a little extra funding will also be rewarded with one additional song.

Rigopulos said that the sheer number of changes they want to make to "Amplitude" have led to them needing to delay it until next year.

The PlayStation 4 version of "Amplitude" will release ahead of the PlayStation 3 edition.
