Amir Khan wants to fight Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao in next fight

Amir Khan is one of the most - if not the most - exciting young boxers of our time. Since his exhilarating professional debut in 2005 with David Bailey, Khan has already gone a long way in his career in boxing, and he knows it.

In his own words, he said to The Guardian: "So much has happened since then. I've come back from losses and won world titles. I've boxed in the UK and America, won fight of the year and moved up three weight classes. I've achieved so much and I'm still only 27. But I feel fresh, which is amazing when you think of all the hard fights and hard training. I've been boxing since I was eight and that's a long time to take punches day after day."

With a lot of wins under his belt, this world class fighter seems to know how to choose his opponents by openly expressing his desire to fight with the unbeatable Floyd Mayweather. But Mayweather has decided to fight Maidana instead. Maidana, not to be forgotten, has already been defeated by Khan in 2010.

Everyone has expected it to be an easy win for Mayweather, but it seems that age has been catching up on Mayweather, and the battle had been tough for the victor.

Khan has readily given his analysis of the fight. He says, "For the first five rounds, I was shocked. I'd expected Mayweather to win easily but styles make fights. Maidana put so much pressure on him that Floyd didn't have room to throw his punches. You have problems with Maidana if you just stand and fight. Floyd won but it wasn't easy."

He then goes on to say that if Mayweather had fought him, the outcome would have been difference because he is "so much faster."

It seems, though, that a match with Mayweather isn't happening anytime soon because Mayweather had decided to do a rematch with Maidana in September just to seal his questionable victory once and for all.

Khan then goes on to say that he also wants a fight with the Filipino pound-for-pound king, Manny Pacquiao. He even says that he is willing to fight with Pacquiao anywhere, even in Dubai (which is unlikely to happen soon because the officials there, he says, are still not ready to host a boxing event of such magnitude), but Pacquiao has already set a fight with Chris Algieri for the latter part of this year.

When asked to compare Mayweather and Pacquiao, Khan says candidly, "Boxing is all about timing and Manny and Floyd are getting older. Someone has to take their place. Mayweather would be a very technical fight, like a game of chess. But I think Manny would be harder. He's much more aggressive and it would be more intense. But with my trainer Virgil Hunter I'm a much better and more defensive fighter."
