American Idol winner Scotty McCreery was robbed at an apartment near North Carolina State University's campus this morning.

According to Raleigh police, three armed suspects robbed the occupants of cash, wallets, and cell phones. No one was injured.

Raleigh police spokesman Jim Sughrue said that around 2 a.m. on May 5, officers were called to the 2100 block of Wolftech Lane after one of the five people inside called 911.

"We got robbed," the person told the dispatcher. "They are all freaked out."

The man reported that they were made to lie face down in the living room while one of the robbers pointed a gun at them.

"They were like 'Get down. Get on the floor and give us everything you got,'" he told the dispatcher.

The caller also reports, "they took everything we have."

One neighbor at the Wolftech Lane apartment complex told reporters that she heard people running up the stairs, and then a lot of commotion.

"All you heard was yelling like, 'Who are you? What are you doing here?' for a good five minutes," a woman told WTVD-TV. "It was just yelling."

Afterwards, she heard people running down the stairs, and then police arrived.

"We just thought it was a bunch of college students partying until that point," she said.

It is unknown if the apartment was targeted because McCreery was in the residence.

Police are working on a description of the intruders, and have dusted for fingerprints. They encourage anyone with information to contact Raleigh Crimestoppers.

McCreery, a North Carolina State University student, won season 10 of American Idol in 2011. His first country music album, "Clear as Day," went platinum, and a holiday album, "Christmas with Scotty McCreery," went gold. The 20-year old's latest album, "See You Tonight," reached the Billboard Country Chart's Top 10.
