Power couple Mark Burnett and Roma Downey's latest faith-based drama A.D. The Bible Continues aired to millions of eager TV viewers on Palm Sunday, and now they are talking about the most poignant scenes they filmed for the series.

"I would say that out of all the work we've done - and we've done a lot of work - that A.D. is the most anticipated series that we've ever been involved with," Downey said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

For Downey, her favourite scene would have to be the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which she considers one of the most powerful scenes they have ever filmed.

"You'll see the light coming out through the crack of the tomb," Downey shared. "Then the angel arrives. He's big and he's beautiful and you're so glad he's on your team when he shows up with his wings and his sword, and then he comes down and he pushes the stone away."

As for Argentinian actor Juan Pablo Di Pace who plays the role of Christ, he was most touched by the crucifixion scene and he said that it is something that he will never forget for the rest of his life.

"I'll take that to my grave because it was such an iconic moment for my life," Di Pace said. "To be standing up there and have the vantage point of being on the cross as him - everything was so real. The only thing that wasn't real was the camera flying around. Everything else was like being there."

Burnett said that it was difficult finding the right person to portray Christ in A.D., but Di Pace was just the perfect fit because of his family background.

"He's grown up around the church," said Burnett. "He's Argentinian, and his mother is a religious painter who has a painting in the Vatican."
