6 Things 30-Something Christians Should Be Doing By Now

There's never been a better time you to be 30-something. Not that there's anything truly special about this millennium, or anything special about this generation (although I'm sure some might pop up).

But God made you to be at this age at this time for a very good reason.

As Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, God knows what He's doing with your life but, do you?

I believe that God moves for our own good even when we don't. I also believe that we have our own role to play.

There's only so much time to do what God has called you to do. To be able to achieve God's ultimate goal for your life, there are a few things that you should be doing or at least trying to do.

Here are six things that 30-something Christians should be doing by now.

1. Spending Time With God Regularly

Any person of any age should be doing this really. But by the age of 30 we should have discipline—both physical and spiritual.

One of the disciplines we ought to nurture in is in making deliberate effort to set non-negotiable time with God on a daily basis.

2. Achieving Financial Literacy

Financial stewardship is essential in pursuing a God-given purpose. Any destiny will need resources, and God provides what we need abundantly.

But do we know how to manage the provisions of God such that they go to what really matters most?

3. Making a Habit of Giving

God's provision will be more than enough when we trust in Him truly. God blesses us in an overflowing manner not because we need to store the blessings in barns like the rich fool in Jesus' parable did (Luke 12:13-21).

God blesses us this way so that we can be a blessing to even more people and be God's hands to those in need.

4. Pursuing God's Purpose

God has a calling and I believe we are assimilated into it as soon as we give our life to Him. God's call, I believe, is something that we are all in the process of achieving.

But at the age of 30 our pursuit should be nothing else except the good, pleasing and perfect will of God.

5. Building Healthy Relationships

God's command to us is simple: Love Him and love others. We are called to build strong and Christ-centred relationships through communities.

But fellowship is not just a calling. It's also a privilege. I don't think there's anything more enjoyable on this earth than experiencing and following Jesus with others.

6. Letting Go of the Baggage of the Past

Whatever is holding you down from experiencing more of God today, it's time to let it go. Whether that's bad relationships, sin struggles or past failures, it should have no room in your heart. It's time to clear out those excess baggage to give more room for the best that God wants to give you today.
