Being productive. That's what every career-oriented, ambitious, motivated person wants to be. However, not everyone who has ambitions or dreams can be productive. When that happens, it's really frustrating.

Are you a person who wants to achieve many things but ends up getting frustrated because you just can't seem to? Here are some practical things that you can do to help improve your daily productivity.

1. Set your goals

Getting up early in the morning to prepare for the rush is a good thing, but if we haven't set any goals for the day, we're not going to achieve them. Seriously. It's easy to achieve nothing if that's what we really want.

Set aside some time to clarify your goals. Don't think that the time that you'll use to do this is wasted. More time is wasted when you do things that aren't even directed towards something important.

Think about Jesus. He died at the age of 33 but was able to purchase for us our salvation. How? He was focused on one simple goal: "For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will." (John 6:38)

2. Brush off all that isn't important

Oh yes, we're the masters of juggling everything in our plate, but stretching ourselves too thin – even for the things that don't really matter – will guarantee us a major failure. We've got to learn to brush all that isn't important off our plate, especially sin and the things that just hinder us from pursuing God's call in our lives.

Hebrews 12:1 tells us, "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us."

3. Do all that you do for God

Whatever we do, no matter how big or small, we should do all that we do for the Lord.

Colossians 3:23-25 tells us, "Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ. But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites."

Don't worry about failing, though. If we do what is right and commit our efforts and plans to the Lord, He will surely help us and bless the work of our hands.
