Anyone who's looking for a suitable competitor for BMW M5 may try to consider 2016 Cadillac CTS-V as one that has the potential.

Based on reviews and road tests, the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V offers several features that make a great candidate for a BMW M5 rival.

Car experts know very well that Cadillac makes automatic cars that sport a conservative appeal, but the same thing cannot be said of the new Cadillac model.

It doesn't matter because a lot of car experts put their bets on the Cadillac to oust BMW M5, which had been considered the top choice when it comes to luxury sedan.

The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V features a 6.2-liter V8 engine that packs up 640 horsepower and a 630 pound-feet of torque. These are the engine features that are comparable to those of Corvette Z06, according to The Next Digit.

However, the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V is much larger than Chevrolet's Corvette and can power up from 0–60 mph in just 3.6 seconds.

On the other hand, the BMW M5 carries a 600-hp engine and had tested 0–60 mph in 3.7 seconds. This puts Cadillac to be quite an impressive model in the luxury sedan category.

Meanwhile, other features of the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V include compatibility with Apple's Carplay, allowing drivers to turn to Siri for help when it comes to getting directions with the use of Apple Maps.

Newsledge also reported that Android Auto will become an option for the new Cadillac come 2016.

While the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V received positive reviews, there's always that drawback that will somehow put off buyers.

The infotainment system "CUE" is somewhat not user-friendly for most people and it is also not "impressive," according to Herald Recorder. In addition, it was noted that the interior of the Cadillac is smaller compared to BMW M5.

Other than that, there's also the price to consider. Reports stated that 2016 Cadillac CTS-V's base price would reach almost $85,000. That's already a handful, but it's a luxury car after all.
